b. Click on
Create a Page
Method 2
On your Personal Profile page, locate the
Create button on the top right hand side of your desktop browser and choose
Page from the drop down options.
Both Methods will bring up the following page:
First thing you need to do is to choose your Page category;
Business or brand
Community or public figure
Since we are creating a Business Page for your business, choose Business or brand and click on Get Started.
Fill in the Page name you desire and the Category that best describes your business. When you start typing in the category field, you’ll see a list of potential category options to choose from.
Once you have chosen your Category, the Address and Phone number fields will show up.
Fill these up and click on Continue. Note that doing so indicates your acceptance of Facebook’s terms and conditions for Business Pages, so you might want to check those out before you proceed.
Step 2. Adding Pictures
Upon clicking Continue, you will be shown the page below to upload your Profile Picture.
The Profile Picture here refers to the business and not your personal picture.
The minimum size for Profile Picture is 180 x 180 pixels but in these days of high resolution devices, it’s best to have a minimum size of 360 x 360 pixels.
Once you are ready, click on Upload a Profile Picture or Skip to come back to it later if you don’t have a suitable image on hand.
Next, you will need to upload a Cover Photo, the most prominent image on your Facebook Business Page.
For Cover Photos, the image dimensions can be a little tricky. Facebook has this guideline:
• For desktop: Ideally, 820 pixels wide by 312 pixels tall
• For smartphones: Ideally, 640 pixels wide by 360 pixels tall
• Minimum dimensions: At a minimum, your photo must be 400 pixels wide and 150 pixels tall
• Fastest load: Optimize as an sRGB JPG file at 851 pixels wide, 315 pixels tall, and under 100 kilobytes
