Facebook can be a bit confusing because there is your personal profile and then there is your company page and sometimes it is easy to get confused- and to confuse your customers in the process too.
Is it a Business Page or Personal Profile?
The first thing to do is to start with the first correct step. If you don't have a Business Page, start creating that first.
Follow our guide on how to set up your Business Page. The worst thing you can do is to use a Personal Profile for business purposes. You might have seen some of these too... when you see that you can add a business as a friend, that's a clear sign they are doing it wrong. It violates Facebook’s policies to use a profile for commercial or promotional purposes, and doing so could result in Facebook deleting that account.
Your Privacy Assured
Many first time users tend to get freaked out when their first post on their Page shows their name as the poster. Even though Facebook requires every Business Page to be linked to a personal profile, all the information — posts, comments, photos, updates, etc.— remain separate. Only page admins will see the information. The information on your personal profile will not appear on your business page and vice-versa, unless you manually share them between pages. The general public will not be able to see what personal profile your Facebook business page is linked to. The public never sees it. In fact, as Page Admin, you don't even have to 'Like' your own Page.
Build your brand on Facebook Page
Business Pages should not be treated the same way as your Personal Profile. Your personal wall may have all the photos of the cutest kittens, but you shouldn't be sharing that on your Page, unless you are in the pets business of course. You need to be mindful that a Page will represent your brand and you need to build it up over the long term. You can also control what visitors can post on your page, hide or delete individual comments, and turn on the profanity filter or block specific words from appearing. However, you need to make sure that you don't shut off people just for complaining against your business. Any complaints, even though it's not your fault must be dealt with professionally because you don't want negative news about your business to go viral!
Using 1 account to manage Business Page
Some businesses use one particular account to login and manage the page and this account gets shared with a few people. If you are doing this, STOP! What if someone with access decides to change the password and hold the company to ransom? It's wrong and there's a much better way where you can
assign different people with different access levels to work on your Page. With this method you can see clearly who has posted to the Page and their activities and when they are no longer with your organisation, you can just remove them.
Stop Liking your own post as your Business
This may be open to debate, but the general consensus is, you shouldn't 'Like' what you post. So if you Business Page posts something and you really want to show some 'Likes', you should like it as your personal profile, NOT as the Page itself. Most experts agree that if you Like something you post, it's a lot like boasting and does not work well for your Page in the long run. Additionally, it could also affect the Facebook Algorithm ranking of your Page.
Don't ignore Messenger
You can enable messaging on your Facebook page to interact personally with customers—answering questions, addressing complaints, or responding privately to comments. You can’t initiate a private conversation from your business page, only reply to messages you’ve received. You can, however, invite people to message your business by sharing a Messenger Link or Messenger Code—unique links that initiate a messaging session when the recipient clicks the link or scans the code.

Not using Desktop
Many page owners manage their Facebook pages from their mobile phones. However, there are still many things that require the desktop browser, in particular, Chrome. Some features can only be found on the desktop version, that's why it's better to do the 'heavy lifting' on your laptop/desktop. When you need to run ads, the optimal way to do it is through Ads Manager on laptop/desktop. Period.
While Business Pages may look very similar to your regular Facebook Profile, the way you manage it is definitely very different.
